During Yugi ’s first duel against Kaiba , Yami Yugi separated the honest part of Kaiba ’s soulfulness from the bad , and he institutionalize the bad part of him to the Shadow Realm , where Pegasus found Ghost Kaiba and used him against Yugi in this episode .
By beating Kaiba in installment 1 , Yugi quite literally create a villain who is so much worse than the original – but that ’s not all . Every minute of Yugi ’s life following his victory over Kaiba is overabundant with misery and hardship . By beating Kaiba , Yugi put himself on Pegasus ’ radar , which leads the villain to reckon out that Yugi has the coveted Millennium Puzzle . Not only that , but Pegasus then steal Solomon ’s soul in an elaborate plot of land to get his hands on the Millennium Puzzle . If Yugi never gravel Kaiba , then Pegasus would n’t have known who he was , and his family would have been safe . On top of creating worse villains by defeat Kaiba , Yugi ’s deck is also negatively touch on by all this . Yugi started off with one Blue - Eyes White Dragon ( technically his grandpa ’s , but still available to him ) and all five Exodia notice . After encountering Kaiba , the Blue - Eyes White Dragon is rend aside and Exodia gets thrown out to ocean by Weevil .
At the beginning of the series , Yugi had the good cards , was already joined with Yami Yugi through the Millennium Puzzle , and had master the Heart of the Cards . Basically , Yugi was already the bestbefore the series even set forth , but after he flap Kaiba , he was confront with one unfortunate event after another – show that Yugi ’s firstYu - Gi - Oh!win was really a massive mistake .
