Right off the top , with ' The Road to # 150 ' now formally afoot , how does it feel to be coming to the end of your own personal TMNT journeying ?
My journey with TMNT will never stop ! ! ! But yeah this is the end of my 50 - issue runnel on the ongoing series , and it has n’t quite slump in yet , it does n’t quite feel real yet . I ’m sure I ’ll have tons of thoughts and look about it once the # 150 script is finished and specially once I ’m look at the last PDF proof of the issue and it all slide down in , but powerful now I ’ll be honest I do n’t really get it on how I feel about it . require me again in two or three months , haha . But like I say , my journey wo n’t totally be over yet , I have more TMNT stuff in the industrial plant for after my run on the on-going is over !

My main inspiration for all things TMNT are the Mirage comedian , both the old way out and the late full point stuff , loudness 4 in particular . Another big aspiration is the 1985 TMNT & Other Strangeness tabletop role - fiddle secret plan from Palladium Books , indite by Erick Wujcik , and the game ’s After the Bomb spin - off . That ’s what get me into TMNT and funnies when I was small and I still go back to it for brainchild all these age later .
What is your process like when it arrive to conform pre - existing character from TMNT lore into the modern canon ? ( Specifically Armaggon and Venus . )
I do n’t have a set process that apply to every character , really , it ’s mostly what I ’m feeling in the moment and what most strikes me about each character . I think about what the character ’s essence construct is and the main one or two things about their original aim that seem to stick out the most to me , as well as the narrative role they ’re going to have in the fib . Sometimes the character will depart as a sketch , like I ’ll have a random mind that sounds coolheaded and I ’ll do a doodle of it before actually writing anything down and that makes the whole concept come home into place .
For Venus , the idea for her went through a couple different iteration , and it really opened things up when we were discussing her behind the scenes and we kept going back to how we already had so many mutant turtle character reference and do we really need yet another one ? What would Venus land to the mesa that we do n’t have already ? And at one point I said something like " well what if she is n’t a turtle , then ? " and that really blew the doors unresolved with her , and that fit into the Jasper Barlow floor I was working on , it all seemed to snap together perfectly .

I ’m not sure I can tell you anything that would n’t give things off , haha . Donatello is n’t trying to keep a particular futurity , per se , but he think if he does n’t do SOMETHING then the Turtles wo n’t have a future at all .
Donatello has become a spot ruthless and flippant with the radioactive dust of fourth dimension traveling , in the name of saving the domain . Now fans know that include Armaggon … are we see Donnie ’s descent into villainy ?
No , I do n’t recollect I ’d ever need to go that far with him . There in reality was an idea we had at one point where Don becomes sort of a dark thaumaturge villain , sully by trick and so forth , but it never come together .

I have a go at it both Kevin and Tom , they are both amazing ! I think all the best computer memory I have with them are thing I ca n’t share in public . It ’s been a dreaming come honest to work with Kevin , my 10 - twelvemonth - old ego would go crazy if she know .

Like I refer in the earlier question , yep , I will emphatically be back ! I ’m not done with those fictitious character and I really require to do some spin - off stories center on Alopex or Venus , and I still need to figure out a way of life to usher in other favorites to the IDW comics .
