However , Luke ’s expert maneuvering mother him out of Thrawn ’s hold , and Luke makes the jumping to lightspeed to bunk . This failure is one Thrawn can not tolerate . He walks to the bridge , confronts the man responsible for the tractor shaft of light , and calmly asks him why he did n’t counter Luke ’s maneuver as he should have been groom to do . When the man ’s solution is n’t a convincing enough excuse for his failure , Thrawn commands Ruhk – his correct - hand Noghri enforcer – to pull off this man ’s head justly in front of everyone else on the bridge .
