Rick Jones is someone who has always been there for both Bruce Banner and the Hulk during the early daytime of their adventures . Of course , that was in Earth-616 , where Bruce Banner was still a torpedo at heart who always try on his best to protect those around him , and aim the Hulk at the sorry guys whenever the Jade Giant took over . In Earth-65 , Bruce Banner is a sick and twisted villain who would get someone to trust him only to turn him into a goliath that he could then draw to devote crimes in his stead .
Bruce Banner turn Rick Jones into the Hulk , but he also turn Mary Jane ( after the Hulk and Pixie brought her to him ) into this universe ’s Carnage . However , as unsound as these crimes of unwanted mutant are , arguably the bad part about this adaptation of Bruce is his creepy fixation with Dazzler . The sight of Bruce experience a sedated Dazzler strapped down while he act her medicine in his research laboratory is truly peel - crawling , and really hammers home how distastefully villainous Banner is in this reality , on top of his sick scientific pursuits .
