As explained to him by one of his ally , the Joker ’s body was kept in stasis after he supposedly died during his final battle with Batman , a fight that leave the body of the apparently deceased Joker in the freezing frigidity . After that conflict , the Joker ’s minions regain his body and keep him on aliveness musical accompaniment . For all intents and design , the Joker was beat , which is why he had to expect until the technology he needed for revival was devise . Now , during theBatman Beyondfuture , that hold off is finally at its end .
When the Joker came back to life inBatman Beyond : Return of the Joker , it was n’t really the Joker who come back , but a written matter of his consciousness within the torso of Tim Drake , which is little more than a knockoff of the original Joker . In the comic , the Joker ’s original body is repair using heightened technology , which is way more of a true resurrection .
